Each time I sit down to write an email I try to be mindful of time, both mine and yours. It is our most precious commodity, one to be used wisely! In keeping with that if you are like me there are great numbers of emails that get deleted or unsubscribed to because they are irrelevant to me or just plain junk(that sneaky stuff you never signed up for!) we all know junk mail is just a waste of our valuable time.
If you got this far I want to thank you for opening even one or more of my emails and not considering them in the junk category. It’s a gift that I get from those who choose to take their valuable time and read what I have to share with them and that’s you!
Getting down to the business of 2025 started with my January tradition. have cleaned and organized my studio, checked my gem stocks and also I’ve made a scant few pieces of commission work so far. Thanks to those who have been patient with me! I have made lists (one of my affirmations to do a better job of) and also done a bit of reflection on last year.
I have been making jewelry in Maine for 16 years now and each year is its own journey. Being a creative person on demand is not always an easy task. Each January I revisit my gratitude for the ability to make jewelry and end the past year with great memories of the joy that my work brings to those who chose to add it to their collection.
To start the creative juices flowing this year I took a trip to the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum. I decided that it was time to add some Maine tourmaline stones to my stock before I made my annual gem buying trip to Tucson. The finest tourmaline in the world comes from this state I call home. Buying gems that are mine sourced and directly from museum stock is a true adventure. The MMGM is an amazing place to learn about the rich history of Maines gem and minerals. It’s worthy of a visit and of your time! I’m really looking forward to making some new work with these treasures so stay tuned!!
Now down to the business of Tucson……it’s happening next week! The shows are opening and I am so excited to be able to make this trip again. It is a feast for the eyes in so many ways. I’d love some help if you are up to it, just drop me a lineif there are stones you have some interest in. It’s great to add to my wish list and helps me identify what might be of interest to you! I’m really looking forward to forward to visits with the people that I have been buying from for years because their quality and commitment to their craft aligns with mine. Also finding new resources that have the ethical practices that are an important part of how I do business. It’s all about making the right choices for the right reasons!
Now I’m off to pack for my trip, excited for all of the new possibilities!!
peace,
anita
